Welcome to the web site of Light and Life Evangelical Ministries, a ministry bringing the gospel of Christ to northern Haiti.  Our ministry's name comes from John 8:12, where Jesus said," I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."  Our ministry model is one that emphasizes using national pastors and evangelists to evangelize and to teach sound Bible doctrines to the Haitian people.   We have no on-site American missionaries, but do occasionally supply teachers for Bible seminars, evangelism and work teams for initiating new construction projects.  We invite you to take a few minutes to tour our site and learn more details about our work for the Lord in Haiti.

Our Mission Field

The name Haïti comes from the indigenous language of the island’s native people and means "land of high mountains.  At the apex of the mountain in the photo above you can see the profile of the Citadel, a World Heritage site in northern Haiti built with forced labor by King Henri Christophe between 1805 and 1820 to thwart a French army invasion.  It is a popular destination for our work teams to tour on their "day off."   The photo was taken from in front of our La Suisse church.
